About the event
- What can I expect from this workshop? kids will be taught to make a clay animal from scratch, starting with a lump of clay. After the workshop, their work can be taken home to firm up and dry under the sun over the following days. We will not be painting their items in this workshop, but they can paint their item at home using simple poster paint or acrylic paint, or come back to the Olori Art Foundation and paint their item for a small fee
- Can my child attend? kids from age 6 upwards can attend the workshop
- How can I register my child? follow the instructions at the bottom of this page (Register now > complete the registration form > make payment)
- How much is the workshop? The clay pottery class is ₦4k for kids (FREE for the first 5 kids to register). Payment must be made in advance (unpaid regular tickets are cancelled within 24hrs)
- Will the clay be fired? No, we use a hardening clay making the objects fairly sturdy but they will not be fired and thus need to be kept indoors after drying
- Does this include painting? This session is for clay pottery alone however items can be painted at home or children can return to Olori Art Foundation paint their item for ₦3k
- Do I need to bring anything? Your child and snacks
- Is food included? No but you are welcome to bring light snacks
- Is there somewhere parents can sit? Yes we have seating in the gallery
- Can I leave my child to run errands? Your child will need to have a guardian present or in close proximity (i.e. in walking distance at Nike Art Gallery)
- Can you share directions to the address? Olori Art Foundation (on google maps) opposite the back of Nike Art Gallery. Address: block 139 Josemaria Escriva, Ikate-Lekki
- When will the next workshop be? Please follow our instagram page @olori.art to keep up to date with our events
- I can't attend this workshop, can my child visit anytime to do pottery? Yes but prices are higher due to it not being a group session. We also do pottery for kids birthday parties and private bookings
